The healthcare sector in India was poised for major growth. According to a leading information services provider PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the Indian healthcare sector was estimated to be US$ 34 billion as of 2007, and was poised to reach US$ 40 billion by 2010. Fortis, which had aggressive growth plans, felt that the solutions deployed by Microsoft would enable it to grow by focusing on its core business activities. "The enterprise agreement enables Fortis to streamline its group-wide investment and leverage best collaborative solutions. It also allows us to scale up without worrying about software management and focus more on healthcare technology," said Manish Gupta, Chief Information Officer, Fortis.
