With sales of US$ 6 billion worldwide in 2008, DAL had emerged as a market leader in the vacuum cleaner market, cornering a share of 32 percent in the US market and 46 percent in the UK market.7,8 Analysts pointed out that DAL was able to achieve the market leadership position because of the company's constant focus on engineering and innovation.
