Gaining Global Recognition

In March 2002, Computerworld Honors (Computerworld) adjudged Michigan.gov, the e-government portal of Michigan State in the US, "an outstanding model" of e-government.² In April 2002, it presented Michigan.gov the prestigious global 'Computerworld Honors 21st Century Achievement Award'³ for the "visionary use of Information Technology" in the 'government & non-profit organizations category.

The jury said that the Michigan State government had demonstrated to the world, the ideal use of technology for the benefit of citizens and businesses through the launch of its portal - Michigan.gov.
