In November 2018, Unilever, a leading consumer goods conglomerate, announced that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Paul Polman (Polman), would step down on January 1, 2019, after a decade at the helm of the company. He would be replaced by Alan Jope (Alan), who had been running Unilever’s beauty and personal care business, its largest division, since 2014 and had been part of the company’s Executive Leadership since 2011. Polman would support the transition process during the first half of 2019.
