The case starts off by giving a brief background of Amoruso, who was a school-dropout with a troubled childhood. It then documents the rise and fall of her first venture – an e-commerce business selling vintage clothing called Nasty Gal, which at one point of time was a multi-million dollar business. Despite the failure of her first venture, Amoruso managed to leverage her fame to become a best-selling author and leverage her fame for her personal brand of corporate feminism called Girlboss.
