Abstract

The aviation industry note examines the structure of the global aviation industry and gives information about the European aviation industry and German aviation industry in particular. It discusses the changes sweeping the aviation industry, and the general economic conditions that influenced the industry, especially since the 1990s. The note also explores the negative impact of the US terrorist attacks on the industry and measures taken by the industry to overcome the same. Finally, the note discusses the problems faced by the German aviation industry and the measures taken by the industry to overcome those problems. The note is intended to act as supporting material for case studies pertaining to the global, European and German aviation industries and the companies operating in those industries.
