The Inception

US-based Arthur W. Perdue (Arthur) started working as a Railway Express agent on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. On the shore, he noticed that the farmers used to ship table eggs and that they became very prosperous. Arthur met Pearl Parsons on the same Eastern Shore and married her in 1917. The same year, he bought 50 leghorn chickens and became a poultry man. He began selling table eggs. Soon, he had saved enough money to set up a full-time poultry business. In 1920, Arthur established his own poultry company and quit his job at the Railway Express. The couple was blessed with a baby boy, Franklin Parsons Perdue (Frank), the same year....
