Abstract:

The case discusses the increasing importance given to the health and wellness
programme (HWP) by corporates in order to limit the rising health care costs of
employees. The case describes in detail the components of HWP, introduced by the
pharma major, Johnson and Johnson (J&J).
The case provides detailed information about how J&J went about implementing the
HWP, the initial hurdles faced and the benefits reaped after the implementation.
The case also talks about the initiatives taken by J&J to significantly enhance
the health and well-being of its employees in the new millennium.
